Pronounced as ‘Brahma Tal’, it is popular in Hindu Mythology as it is believed that several years ago Lord Brahma meditated in Brahmatal Lake. This winter trek of Uttrakhand leads you to climbing towards two beautiful lakes at the peak popularly known for its grand views of mountains. The gorgeous meadows surround you throughout the trek and accompany you to your most desired destination.

Itinerary

Day 1 Rishikesh Arrival & Drive to Lohajung
Assemble at the boarding point in Rishikesh - ISBT Bus Stand/Railway Station and drive to Lohajung. Lohajung serves as the beginning point and the base camp for the Brahmatal trek.
After arriving in Lohajung, check in to our cozy homestay/guesthouse, freshen-up and have some leisure. Feel free to take a stroll around this gorgeous village and pack for your next day's trek. Savour home-style cooked dinner and overnight stay in Lohajung.
Day 2 Trek from Lohajung to Bekaltal
Wake up early in the morning and post breakfast, we will start our trek from Lohajung to Bekaltal. Along the way, you would encounter some mind blowing views of Nanda Ghunti Peak. The trekking trail to Bekaltal passes through a dense forest region consisting of conifer, cedar, oak and fir trees. Spot the Kali Valley as you climb higher, marked by the union of Kali and Pindari rivers.
After arriving in Bekaltal, check in to our camps and have some leisure. Feel free to take a stroll around and soak in the charm of Bekaltal Lake. Savour home-style cooked dinner and overnight stay in camps.
Day 3 Trek from Bekaltal to Brahmatal Base Camp
Wake up early in the morning and post breakfast, we will start our trek from Bekaltal to Brahmatal Base Camp. The trekking trail to Brahmatal starts steeply into the oak and rhododendron forest which leads to the meadow of Telandi top. In winters, this meadow turns into a vast snowfield. From here, it is a very gradual descent to Brahmatal.
After arriving in Brahmatal, check in to our camps and have some leisure. Feel free to take a stroll around and witness the gorgeous Brahmatal Lake. Treat your eyes with jaw dropping vistas of snow-peaked Himalayas. Savour home-style cooked dinner and overnight stay in camps.
Day 4 Brahmatal Summit to Lohajung
Today is the most visually mesmerizing day. Wake up early in the morning and post breakfast, we will start our trek from Brahmatal to Brahmatal Summit. We would pass through some treacherous trails at Chota Jhandidar and Bada Jhandidar. The trekking trail passes through a mountain ridge with valleys on both sides and provides majestic views of Mt.Trishul and Nanda Ghunti peaks.
At Brahmatal Summit, get mesmerized by a 180° view of exclusive snow covered Himalayan peaks such as Chaukhambha, Mandi, Mana, Nilgiri, Neelkanth and Trishul.
Start your descent from Brahmatal to Lohajung. After arriving in Lohajung, check in to our cozy homestay/guesthouse. Savour home-style cooked dinner and overnight stay in Lohajung.
Day 5 Drive to Lohajung to Rishikesh | Trek Ends
Wake up early in the morning, check-out from our guesthouse/homestay and drive from Lohajung to Rishikesh.
By evening, you will be dropped at Rishikesh - ISBT/Railway Station. Trek ends with lots of amazing memories and unforgettable experiences.

Inclusions

Transportation: Tempo Traveler/Bolero or similar (from Rishikesh to Rishikesh).
Accommodation on sharing basis: 2 nights in basic homestay/guesthouse (Lohajung), 1 night in camps (Bekaltal) and 1 night in camps (Brahmatal Base Camp).
Meals: Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner (starting from Dinner on Day 1 till morning tea on Day 5) and complimentary evening tea & snacks. All provided meals are vegetarian only.
Well qualified and experienced trek leader and support staff.
All necessary entry fees and forest permits.
First-Aid medical kit for emergencies.
Camping & trekking equipment - sleeping bags, snow gaiters, microspikes & rope (if required).

Any extra meals apart from the ones mentioned under inclusions.
Travel Insurance, items of personal nature like porterage, tips, laundry etc.
Any entry fees, extra expenses for optional activities or tickets, unless quoted in Inclusions.
Cost of snow-chained or 4*4 Vehicle if needed due to heavy snowfall.
Any other costing involved due to circumstances like natural calamity, weather conditions, riots, roadblocks, landslides or any other forced circumstances which are out of our control.
GST (5%) is applicable extra.

Things To Pack

Sunglasses, torch, trekking pole, charger, power bank, quick dry towel, adequate amount of cash, quick snacks/dryfruits/energy bars, trash & waterproof laundry bags, re-usable water bottle.

Good quality rucksack (preferably 40-60 liters) & day backpack (preferably 20-30 liters) with rain-cover is recommended, avoid to carry trolley bag.

Personal medication (as prescribed by the doctor) & first-aid, sprain relief spray, glucose powder, tablets for headache, fever, diarrhea, motion sickness, dettol & cotton/bandages.

Personal documents & ID's like aadhar card, drivers license, passport or any other valid Government ID proofs.

Personal care items like cold cream, sunscreen (preferably SPF50), lip balm, sanitary pads, toothpaste & other toiletries, wet wipes, hand sanitizer, insect repellent, body spray, toilet paper.

Heavy down jacket (supports -5°C to -10°C), wind proof jacket, long track/cargo pants (preferably polyester), T-shirts, body thermal wears, sun cap/hat, woolen cap & gloves, raincoats/ponchos.

A pair of trekking shoes with good grip, ankle support & waterproof, atleast 3 pair of socks & floaters/sandals (for campsite purpose).
